Dear City of Durango Resident,
On behalf of the Durango City Council, we invite you to participate in our 2018 Citizen Engagement Survey. Our role as City Council is to provide the policy direction to the City Manager, who in turn directs City Staff to provide essential services in a way that demonstrates respect for public resources and responds to the needs and interests of our citizens.

The City has been conducting a large scale public process on the City's General Fund Budget. During this process we have heard that our citizens are very satisfied with the quality of life in Durango, and are satisfied with the services the City provides. We heard clearly that you want the City to maintain General Fund services and infrastructure. To do this, the City will need to ask voters for additional revenue. If you have yet to participate in the more than 50 meetings that have been held so far, we urge you to visit our website at durangogov.org/engage to find out more about the process and what your fellow citizens have said.

The following survey asks how you feel about the condition of community assets, how well current General Fund services meet your expectations, and what level of support you have towards generating the necessary revenue to maintain the General Fund services and infrastructure. Your responses will remain confidential, and results will be calculated by an independent survey company, ETC Institute, who is also responsible for randomly selecting Durango households that received the survey.

Survey results will be presented to the City Council in late July, and will be posted on the City's website (durangogov.org/engage) following the presentation. Should you have any questions about the survey, please contact Amber Blake at (970) 375-4949, or email amber.blake@durangogov.org.

Thank you!
